Know Your Vapes: Canadian vs Made in Canada

We've noticed more customers asking where their favourite vapes come from. Many are leaning towards Canadian products when searching out a new flavour. It's one more sign of Canadians using economic choices to shape our national identity. 

In British Columbia we are used to seeing empty shelves in the US section of the liquor store. Little red maple leaves are more prominent at the grocery store. At times, those red badges and claims of being Canadian aren't as Canadian as consumers expect.

When we redesigned our website in 2023 Local eLiquids was one of the things we really wanted to showcase. Unfortunately, changing regulations have reduced the number of smaller local vape companies but there are still some great Canadian, and BC eliquid companies. 

While where a product is made is included on all vape product packaging, Thunderbird Vapes now includes both Country of Origin and Brand Nationality on online vapeable product listings. 

Canadian Vape Brands VS Made In Canada eLiquids

It should come as no surprise that (almost) all vape hardware is made in China. What some customers may not realize is that some Canadian eLiquid brands are actually manufactured in China. Likewise, some Chinese and USA brands manufacture eLiquids in Canada.  

To help clarify we have added two new fields to our product listings, the Brand Nationality and the country in which the product was made. To simplify the matter, products labeled as Products of Canada and Made in Canada are all listed as "Made in Canada". 

Thunderbird Vapes includes a large inventory so we have focused our time on products containing eliquids and the top selling brands with newer products. Items such as Salt Nicotine and Freebase Eliquids, Pre-filled pods, and disposable vapes should now all include their brand nationality and country in which they were made.

Visit our Canadian eLiquids collection from the main menu bar and filter by Country of Origin. The results will show you all the eliquids that are manufactured in Canada by Canadian companies. We have not included the Canadian branch of larger companies here (such as GCORE Canada). Please keep in mind that these fields are manually entered and there may be the odd error (if you find one, please let us know) but should give you a complete view of truly Canadian vape products.
