Welcome to Our New Online Experience

As we near Thunderbird Vapes' 10th Anniversary, we've been reflecting on the many changes we've experienced. While much of the changes have revolved around products and broadening regulations, our relationship to customers has changed too. Gone are the days of sitting around testing flavours and chatting. While customers tested flavours, we had the opportunity to chat about customer's vaping needs, and often got to know customers pretty well. While we still love to chat with customers, the customers we know by name are now often our online customers. 

Just as our products have expanded since 2014, the ways we interact with customers have expanded too. Even before we sold anything through our website we had a list of Out Of Town Customers, age verified in person, who could call or email in orders. By 2018 most of all our inventory was available online, with In Store Pick Up gaining popularity in 2020 and local delivery options expanding in the last couple of years. This is all to say, our website was doing more than it had been designed for. One of the biggest changes we saw, was in how our website is now being used - on mobile devices. While our site has always been responsive, it was geared towards computers. 

This is all to say, we've built a new website! Or. at least given it a major make over. Our main goal was to make items as easy to find as possible, whether through search boxes, collections or filters, and mobile friendly. Here are some of our favourite new features!

Search Box

The new search box shows a drop down of top matches, these range from search terms (the lower case items at the top) followed by Collections (highlighted in Title Case), Products with images, then Posts and Pages in the column to the right. We have a LOT of collections, probably too many, but I love collections as a way of organizing products. Often these are by Brand but may also include product times - most drop down menu items are collection pages. 

Collection Pages

Collection Pages are where you'll find all the products but the best part are the filters on the left. Chose, price ranges, brands, product types, features (ie flavours and hardware functions) or my very favourite - Strength. This one is especially handy for customers using less common levels like 0.1 or 10mg salts. Now you can really focus in on exactly what you are looking for. Test out THIS COLLECTION

New / Blog

We neglect the blog, but the truth is I (Stacey) love writing blog posts. I don't even mind if they don't get read. They are a historic scrap book of Thunderbird Vapes. Juice lines that have come and gone over the years, announcements of regulation changes, news articles, sales and random post like this one. This is where we can let some personality come through. While authors aren't listed, the voices of various staff are found in these posts (and some collections). I'm hopeful that the clean presentation of the blog, and inclusion on the home page, will encourage customers to stop by more often - and encourage us to post more often. Check out this one from 2015
